Environmental Protection Agency: Fracking Poses No ‘Widespread, Systemic’ Harm to Drinking Water
WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 5, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, Congressman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05), co-chairman of the bipartisan Congressional Natural Gas Caucus, released the following statement in response to the release of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) assessment that hydraulic fracturing poses no ‘widespread, systemic’ harm to drinking water:
“After five years of study, the EPA’s report has reaffirmed that hydraulic fracturing poses no inherent or significant threats to our drinking water.
Just last year, the Department of Energy released a similar report with nearly identical conclusions. Despite these findings and strong state laws already on the books, the Administration continues to ignore the science and reach for a heavier-handed federal role.”
